Electrical Infrastructure

– Construction/Refurbishment of Electrical Substations from 11kV to 132kV comprising Primary Plant, Power Transformers as well as Secondary Plant.

– Construction/Refurbishment of 3kV DC Traction Railway and Distribution Substations for Transnet/Prasa, comprising:

Primary Plant: AC Circuit Breakers, Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, AC Disconnects, Surge Arrestors

Traction Transformers and Distribution Transformers

Secondary Plant: MV Switchgear, DC High Speed Circuit Breakers, Rectifiers, Wave Filters, Positive Isolators, Battery Chargers including the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the associated Control Panels and Protection Schemes.

– Construction of Transmission Lines up to 275kV

– Overhead Electrical Reticulation (Electrification Projects) comprising:

pole-mounted transformers

bare Medium Voltage overhead aluminium conductors

low voltage Aerial Bundle Conductor (ABC)

pole-mounted service distribution boxes,

overhead service connections using split concentric cable

street lighting

– Underground Electrical Reticulation – comprising Miniature Substations, underground MV and LV cables, distribution metering kiosks and street lighting

– Installation of High Mast lighting and Street lighting

– Installation/upgrade of Medium and Low Voltage cabling and infrastructure (11 to 88kV)

– Installation of Medium Voltage bulk service connections (up to 22kV)

– Installation of Low Voltage service connections (up to 400 V)

– Installation of 6.6/11kV AC Overhead Lines along OHTE railway lines

– Electrical Building Services including Installation of Airconditioners and Generators

– Provision of emergency skilled labour to Electricity Service Providers for the effective restoration of power (least disruption and outage time) in the event of faults occurring in the medium and low voltage networks.
